Welcome to the website of the
Council of Rural Research & Development Corporations' Chairs
There are 15 Rural Research and Development Corporations covering virtually all of the agricultural industries. The RDCs bring industry and researchers together to establish research and development strategic directions and to fund projects that provide industry with the innovation and productivity tools to compete in global markets.
The Rural Research and Development Corporation model of joint industry and government funding has been a vital element in the success of Australia’s R&D effort.
In the agriculture, fisheries and forestry sector, R&D has helped Australian agriculture double its productivity over the past 25 years.
The Council of Rural Research and Development Corporations' Chairs (CRRDCC) is a forum for ensuring that the RDC model continues to contribute to a sustainable and profitable Australian agricultural sector.
Chair of the CRRDCC Enzo Allara is calling on all RDC levy payers to participate in the Government's national review of drought policy.
“While some emergency support may still be required, producers in all industries will need to be able to manage the reality of more frequent and severe drought events in the future as a result of climate change," Mr Allara said.
